free IMAP services from yahoo and gmail.

I have recently came across my gmail account is offering me IMAP service if you have the access to your account with IMAP protocol you can get your mails directly to your symbian phone or windows mobile or any email client.

Use following settings for mailbox in symbian phone:

outgoing mail server: smtp.gmail.com
incoming mail server: imap.gmail.com
security ports: 993

use full email address at username field.

Also i have recently came across an article showing that yahoo account also can be accessed via IMAP protocol. I dont know if it is officially available as free service. But it may be available for yahoo plus.

Use following settings :

incoming mail server: imap.next.mail.yahoo.com

outgoing mail server: smtp.mail.yahoo.com

use username and password of your account.
